SimoN Allard Artist

I studied at Wimbledon School of Art before completing a Creative Arts degree through the Open College of the Arts. Previously as Chairman of  Rickmansworth Art Society I organised and took part in regular exhibitions locally. I am also a singer/songwriter with a recording and  performing career.

I search jumble sales and charity shops to find old books which I alter with collages combining memorabilia and personal ephemera before layering with typewritten elements. My works also include larger wall hung collages together with 3D items and films.

I am interested in personal identity, how it is formed and how we use it to survive in the real world. I gain insights by exploring events that influenced my own sense of identity. Poetry and literature inspire every aspect of my work as a creative.
